WTMJ-TV: WTMJ-TV was an early innovator in both radio and television technology. The history of the station mirrors the history of Milwaukee, mass communications, reporting and broadcasting styles. The station also faced censorship issues with local politicians and fought legal battles over anti-trust laws, all in the name of communicating the daily news to the public.

Jack Krueger: Jack Krueger began his career as a news reporter in 1937. He worked first as news editor at WTMJ Radio and then for the television station from 1947 to 1980. In his long career in the field of mass communications he witnessed vast changes in broadcasting, coverage of electorial politics by the media, and commercial sponsorship. He also fought legal battles with local politicians over coverage of news events and equal time.

Albert Rainovic: Al Rainovic worked as a sports artist for the Milwaukee Journal from 1952-1969. He left the Journal in 1969 and worked as a freelance artist and baseball columnist until 1980. His cartoons depict the controversies of the sports world: league expansion, local rivalries and personnel changes. He also illustrated political stories for the Milwaukee Journal, making visual statements about Vietnam and the Cold War.

Mayor Henry Maier: Milwaukee's larger-than-life mayor served the city from 1960 to 1988. He saw the city through some of its most tumultuous events: civil rights rioting and controversies over freeway expansion and urban renewal. In his weekly press conferences he was in the crossfire of these events. Through it all, he used the media as a tool to communicate to the people of Milwaukee.
