A statement of purpose submitted by the Gay Liberation Organization (GLO) to UWM's Student Activities Office in June 1970. GLO was the first gay student organization to be recognized by the university. Another group, the Homosexual Freedom League, had filed preliminary paperwork to register as a student organization in February 1970, but failed to complete the registration process.
