ABSTRACT: Probate case files, arranged numerically by document number, contain papers relating to the settlement of deceased individuals' estates. Papers include inventories of real and personal property, reports and accounts of administrators and executors; statements of claims against estates; records relating to suits against estates; petitions and records relating to suits against estates; petitions and court orders for sale of real and/or personal property; warrants; contracts; sworn testimony; and similar papers.

Two reels are numbered 24; one is 24a; the other 24b, and are not the same. There is no reel 129 due to a number omission mistake when microfilming.

The index to these microfilm reels is held by the Waukesha County Register in Probate's office. To use these reels, a researcher must first contact the Waukesha County Register in Probate’s office to obtain a document number from their index. Be sure to receive from them a “document number” rather than a “box number” or “case number.” The index to these reels is not available at UWM Libraries or the Wisconsin Historical Society.
