ABSTRACT: Series contains records of the School District and other districts which merged with it. Most of the records date from ca. 1900 to 1960. The majority of the records are general record books, which contain minutes of the annual school board meetings, financial statements, and teacher contracts. For School District No. 1 (West Bend) there are also minutes of the annual alumni association meetings, disbound minutes of the school board, treasurer's books and several volumes recording school bond sales, and two histories of education in West Bend. There are also treasurer's records for several of the other school districts.

The series contains records from the following school districts: Consolidated District No. 1 included Trenton, Farmington, Barton, and West Bend. District No. 7 became Joint School District No. 7 in 1941, and included Jackson, West Bend, Polk, and Trenton.

ACQUISITION: The Wisconsin Historical Society acquired the materials from the school district in 1983 (accession number C1983/73).

PROCESSING: Kyle Krause and Mark Vargas processed the series in December 1991 at the Milwaukee Urban Archives.
