ABSTRACT: Records of the Occupational Therapy Program created or compiled by the director largely consisting of correspondence, faculty meeting minutes, accreditation and other program materials, including handbooks, news releases, and files regarding recruitment. The collection documents course and program developments, including a proposal for a bachelor of science degree in occupational therapy and an application for program accreditation; affiliations with health care facilities and field work placement; staffing and space needs; faculty and other department activities.


ACCESS RESTRICTIONS: There are no access restrictions on the materials, and the collection is open to all members of the public in accordance with state law. However, the researcher assumes full responsibility for conforming with the laws of libel, privacy, and copyright which may be involved in the use of this collection (Wisconsin Statutes 19.21-19.39).


ADMINISTRATIVE HISTORY: The Occupational Therapy Program was implemented in 1974. The program initially came under the administration of the Dept. of Health Sciences located within the College of Letters & Science. In 1975, when the School of Allied Health Professions was established, the Occupational Therapy Program, which continued to exist as part of the Dept. of Health Sciences, came under the administration of the School.
