ABSTRACT: Photographs and xeroxed newspaper clippings documenting the career of a Polish American politician, who was West Allis alderman (1936-1956), Milwaukee County Sheriff, and Milwaukee County treasurer (1956-1974). The clippings illustrate Barczak's 1937, 1952, and 1956 electoral victories; a 1954 Sheriff's Department raid on a stag party, for which Barczak was highly commended; his participation in county and national Democratic politics; and Barczak's selection as Man of the Year by the Milwaukee Society (Lodge 2159) of the Polish National Alliance (1965). There are photographs of Barczak as an alderman, and receiving various awards later in life. Some of the photographs are not identified.
