ABSTRACT: Correspondence, record books, deeds, indentures, and mortgages of Albert Alden, Waukesha County's first sheriff. Also includes an extract with translation of Pierre Sonnerat's 1782 book Voyage aux indes Orientales et a la Chine, and genealogical materials on the Alden and Brewster families, especially James Alden who became an admiral in the Civil War.
