ABSTRACT: Records of the committee formed to raise funds, select, and erect a monument honoring Milwaukee soldiers who served in the Civil War. Dedicated on June 28, 1898; the monument is located on Wisconsin Avenue in front of the Milwaukee Public Library, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Includes minutes, subscription lists, treasurer's accounts, and correspondence, especially with the sculptor, John S. Conway.
