Undergraduate major, minor, or concentrated study in Communication and another curricular area; M.A. in Communication. Main undergraduate curricular areas in Communication are: applied, interpersonal, intercultural, organizational, and public rhetoric. Graduate study includes quantitative and qualitative research, humanistic research, theories of speech communication and rhetorical communication, and measurement and evaluation in speech communication. Specific focus is on such topics as argumentation and debate, persuasive speaking and theory of persuasion, interviewing, nonverbal communication, instructional communication and communication in organizations, communication in conflict and in the legal process, mediation, communication in marital and family relationships, gender and communication, small group communication, freedom of speech, speech communication, and social order. | |
