The M.A. in Art History is offered, in addition to undergraduate major or minor study. A graduate Certificate in Art Museum Studies is also offered. The study of history, theory, criticism, and connoisseurship of art focuses on European, North American, Pre-Columbian, and African art, and includes painting, sculpture, architecture of various stylistic periods, and the history of film, graphics, and decorative arts. Art is studied in its cultural, social, political, economic, and religious context.
