Microform Research Collections in the UW-Milwaukee Libraries
The UW-Milwaukee Libraries own an extensive collection of primary source research material in microform. This guide is a brief introduction to selected items from that collection – it is not a complete list. The guide includes many of the large, familiar sets such as presidential papers, historical periodicals, and twentieth century political documents, but it also features the less well known Dead Sea Scrolls on Microfiche; The Oriental Question, 1840-1900. Files from the Royal Archives, Windsor Castle; or Latin American Pamphlets from the Yale University Library among many others.
The guide is arranged alphabetically by collection title. Print indexes to most collections are located in the microform viewing room, Lower Level West Wing and may be available online as well. Learn more about individual collections by searching PantherCat by the title, reviewing the indexes, or consulting with a reference librarian. In some cases “googling” a collection title will yield detailed publisher descriptions and other information. Additional collections are described in the subject-specific guides also found on this webpage.
