Digital Spatial Data Landuse/Zoning/Landcover/Vegetation
The 2000 SEWRPC landuse dataset displays information regarding the different types of land use using a shape file format. The dataset covers all of the seven counties in Southeastern Wisconsin and is extremely valuable for use in any project within this region.

SEWRPC Zoning - Inventory of Local Zoning SEWRPC collected zoning ordinances and maps from each city, village, town, and county in the region in 2000. The Commission staff has "converted" detailed zoning districts identified in local zoning ordinances to a regional classification system and has mapped existing (2000) zoning, based upon the regional classification system, on Commission base maps. The resulting inventory provides a graphic and quantitative summary of the pattern of land uses authorized under existing zoning in the region.
Obtained from the City of Milwaukee, this zoning data (title: site plan review overlay districts and development incentive zones) shows detailed levels of zoning categories.
USGS Landcover Dataset (web) The National Land Cover Characterization datasets from 1992 and 2001 are available for downloading at the USGS website. A high diversity of land use types are displayed within the data which covers the entire United States. The National Land Cover Characterization dataset would be extremely useful as an accompaniment for any type of project using GIS. See more information on the 1992 dataset and 2001 dataset.
