Mission Statement

The mission of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Police Department is to prevent crime and support the University's goals by providing a safe and secure environment conducive to learning, research, and related work/activities through professional community policing.

We will enforce laws and ordinances; protect life and property and safeguard Constitutional liberties regardless of age, race, gender, national origin, sexual orientation, disabilities or religious beliefs.

Organizational Goals/Objectives

Provide exceptional community service through a highly motivated and competent workforce, positive interaction with the public and a high degree of visibility within the community.

Instill public confidence in the department by maintaining ethical standards of conduct and operation, a high degree of professionalism, and expertise in the delivery of police services.

Promote an open police management style that encourages innovation, creativity, and flexibility.

Utilize effective police-community partnerships to resolve problems collaboratively.
