University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee S.A.F.E Officers Volunteer Program
The UWM Police Department is launching a campaign in an attempt to get more neighbors in the UWM area involved in making a difference in our neighborhoods. We are inviting you to become a S.A.F.E. Patrol volunteer to help make the streets around campus safer. While S.A.F.E. Patrol has been credited with reporting criminal activity that has lead to numerous arrests, they have also assisted numerous students, faculty, staff, and neighbors with escorts at night, slip and fall incidents, and in reporting other concerns in the neighborhood. SECURITY OFFICER Type of Employment: Part Time, This position requires weekend and evening hours. Salary: $7.50 per hour Contact: Sgt. James Learman UW-Milwaukee Police Deadline to Apply: Open Enrollment Job Description: Under the supervision of the Shift Sergeant, Officer-in-charge, or the Lieutenant, this position is responsible for providing security at the University U-Park lots, and other locations on a 24/7 schedule. This uniformed position demonstrates professionalism, provides superb customer service and serves as a model representative for the Department and Division. Security officers must be dependable and report for duty on time and properly uniformed. The principal duties of the Security Officer are to provide for the personal safety of persons, protect property and persons from fire, theft, vandalism, and other hazards at the U-Park lots and other locations. Assist and direct staff, faculty, students, and visitors. Provide emergency assistance as needed.
