Abstract: This paper studies intra-industry trade between ten Asian countries. It is found that intra-industry trade is most extensive in trade between NICs-NECs, and least extensive in trade between LDCs-NECs and in trade among LDCs. The group of LDCs has the largest share of intra-industry trade in non-manufacturing goods. In the second part, determinants of the extent of intra-industry trade in Asia are tested. The results indicate that industry variables as well as most country variables have the expected impact on intra-industry trade between the ten Asian countries.
