Black & Gold Committee

 

Membership:

The Committee will be comprised of students and staff and shall reflect the diversity of UWM. Two or more members will also serve on the campus-wide Black & Gold Committee. Committee members will be appointed/reappointed on an annual basis.

Members also serve on action teams established by the Committee. Students and staff who are not members of the Committee will also be invited to participate in the work of the Committee.


Charge:

The Committee shall make recommendations to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and/or to the campus-wide Black & Gold Committee to support the following goals of the Black & Gold Commission:

1. Improve student success, satisfaction and retention.
2. Develop students into increasingly competent learners.
3. Ensure student/university expectations are realistic.
4. Increase connections within the school and university community.
5. Increase multicultural sensitivity.
6. Decrease stress and improve health.
7. Increase accountability.
8. Improve the learning environment.
9. Increase accessibility and coordination of services.

The committee shall also monitor the progress of goals and activities established to assess and improve the student experience at UWM.
