A UW System Position Questionnaire or a UWM Position Description should be completed along with the division position description when a position changes by 50% or more, a new position is established, or changes are made to Director and positions in the Program Manager position series. The UWM Position Description is to be used for positions in the academic staff professional title series. The UW System Position Questionnaire is used for positions in the director and program manager series.

The Administrative Officer will work with Human Resources to determine the correct title and placement of the position within a salary range. The director will be notified, with a memo, from Human Resources stating the determination of the title and salary range. In some cases responsibilities the UWPQ can be edited and refined until the director is satisfied with the title and salary.

Once the title and salary have been agreed upon, follow the unclassified recruitment process.
