Over the summer of 1996, Gary Moore wrote and sent for publication four articles on child
care environments. Another ten are in the hopper, some submitted for publication, some returned
requiring revisions, and others with outlines written and some/most of the material gathered. Several
of these articles are invited (like for the Encyclopedia of Childhood), several have or are being
submitted to peer-refereed journals (like Child Development, Environment and Behavior, Journal of
Architectural Education, Childhood, Young Children, International Journal of Children's Rights,
Journal of Play Theory, and American Educational Research Journal), some are based on recent
conference presentations (papers presented by Gary Moore and Shan Sivakumaran at recent EDRA
conferences), and one set of articles is a regular, invited series for the largest circulation child care
magazine (Child Care Information Exchange). Our group plans to write about one article a month
over the next year.
