Research Interests:
My main area of research is in linguistics, mostly in the area of syntactic typology. I've also done fieldwork on, and published on, languages in the Tibeto-Burman family [Nepal], the Western Nilotic family [Uganda], the Salishan family [Pacific Northwest], and the Celtic family [Ireland]. My work on Irish has centered on Irish syntax, especially on the challenges Irish poses for some theories of language.
