Neighborhood Survey

List of Items to be Added to the Block/Street:

The Questionnaire gave the following list to pick from:

  • Similar architectural styles and building materials for all houses
  • Standard color theme for all houses
  • Similar landscaping in front gardens
  • More trees/planters on the street
  • More Street lighting
  • Street Furniture
  • Attractive bus shelters
  • Signage indicating the UWM campus
  • Signage indicating a neighborhood identity
  • Clear visual and physical separation from the UWM campus premises
  • Other _______________________

The Questionnaire asked the respondents to indicate the items that needed to be added or removed from the neighborhood.

Almost all participants wanted more trees and lights. All other items were not found significant for this issue.

Almost all participants wanted trees and overgrown shrubs in front gardens and garbage (garbage cans too) to be removed.They also wanted porches and balconies to be repaired/ gardens to be maintained. Residents further wanted street parking to be discouraged. Both parties thought other items insignificant.

The Neighborhood Survey concluded that the following were the key issues to be addressed:

  • Street Landscape
  • Maintenance of front yards/building facades
  • Street Lighting
  • Street Parking

The Questionnaire gave the following list to pick from:

  • Under-maintained Porches and Balconies of the houses
  • Garden furniture and ornamentation
  • Various flags, holiday decorations and signage on houses
  • Any sign that indicates the UWM campus
  • Trees and overgrown shrubs in front gardens
  • Trees and planting in the street
  • Garbage and unused household items on the street
  • Street parking
  • Other ________________
