Tutoring Services
What is Peer Tutoring?
Peer tutoring is a recognized way to supplement your studies, whether you're earning A's or trying to boost your GPA. Our tutors are UWM students, just like you, who've taken your course, often by the same instructor, and received additional training to help you succeed.
Peer Tutoring comes in two forms:
Weekly Sessions:
By far, our most popular service. Meet your tutor once or twice a week to go over material as the course unfolds. Tutors will discuss course concepts, answer questions, and help you prepare for exams.
To sign up for weekly tutoring, please fill out an online tutoring application or pick up a paper application in Bolton 180.
Walk-In Assistance:
Available for students with the occasional question about course material in math, science, English, economics, business, logic, statistics, and other courses.

Weekly Group Tutoring
Group tutoring is a great way to supplement your classroom learning. Students work with a tutor in groups of four or less. Your tutor can give individualized attention to your needs, while at the same time you benefit from the questions and experience of the other group members. Groups meet once or twice a week.
All group members sign up separately and are placed in groups according to course and scheduling needs.
Supplemental Instruction
Supplemental Instruction (also known as "SI") is a type of intensive tutoring that works best with large lecture sections. The SI leader attends class along with the students and then holds four weekly review sessions. By attending class, the SI leader can tailor each review session to course-specific material. Students can join one or all of the sessions, as needed.

Study Groups
Study Groups offer students yet another way to stay ahead academically. Students meet informally to work on test preparation and course material, either with or without the guidance of a tutor. All groups meet in the Library: WB42. There are no attendance requirements.
