Dear Prospective Student:

Thank you for your interest in the Master's Program in Social Work at the Helen Bader School of Social Welfare at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Social workers will continue to face some very challenging and interesting issues, and I believe that our MSW Program will prepare you to advance the profession. Employment data suggests that career opportunities continue to grow particularly in child welfare, corrections, and health care-related fields. In addition, we have expanded our enrollment targets and are accepting a larger cohort of students each year. Enclosed is a packet that includes an application and information about the Helen Bader School of Social Welfare's MSW Program and about the City of Milwaukee. I hope you find this information helpful in deciding whether our degree program meets your career goals.

If you would like to talk with someone about our Graduate Social Work Program, please feel free to call (414) 229-4852 to set up an appointment. Ms. Diane Miller, Assistant Dean for Student Services, or a member of her staff would be pleased to meet with you to discuss our program, financial aid, or other issues which you may have regarding the University, the School or the greater Milwaukee community. Also, please feel free to visit our web site at http://www.uwm.edu/Dept/SSW
for additional information about the School, our programs, and our faculty.

I hope you will seriously consider applying to the Graduate Social Work Program. If accepted, you will be working with an outstanding group of faculty and other highly motivated graduate students. Our program provides excellent education and training with concentrations in children and families, as well as health and mental health. There are also certificate programs in school social work and marriage and family therapy. We look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Stan Stojkovic

Dean
