(Ph.D., Michigan State University, 1984) joined the faculty in Fall, 1983 and is Dean of the School as well as Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice. His primary teaching responsibilities are in the areas of public administration, philosophy, and criminal justice and criminology. His major research interest is in the area of correctional administration. He has written two textbooks on criminal justice administration, an introductory text on corrections with Professor Rick Lovell, and currently has published a book on crime and justice in the future. In addition, he is coordinator of the California Leadership Institute for the California Department of Corrections.
