SOIS
Student Organizations
The SOIS Student Organization (SO) and the United
Students of Information Resources (USiR) Organization
were established to improve communication between
students, faculty, and the alumni. these are duly
authorized organizations registered with the Office
of the Dean of Students and administered by an
executive committee of students with School advisors.
The Assistant Dean of the SOIS is the advisor
to the SOIS Student Organization and Dr. Elizabeth
Buchanan advisor to the USIR Organization.

ALA Student Chapter
The American Library Association and the SOIS
have established an ALA Student Chapter. Activities
of the Chapter include colloquia and presentations.
SAA Student Chapter
The Society of American Archivist Student Chapter.

The American Society for Information Science
and Technology sponsors a Wisconsin Chapter. The
chapter sponsors lectures and discussions for
area professionals and students.

UWM Student Association
The Student Association (SA) is the student government
of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The
