Non-Degree Candidate

According to the Graduate School regulations, it is possible to take credits as a non-degree candidate prior to admission to the MLIS program and have them count toward the degree. The limit to the number of such credits is twelve. They must not be taken in order to prove ability for graduate study. Acceptance of such credits is not a formal transfer of credit to a student record, but SOIS must notify the Graduate School that they are to be counted toward the degree.
