Technology Requirements for Distance Learning

The UWM Campus uses the Desire2Learn (D2L) Course Management Software for course delivery. For help files on how to use specific features of D2L, please visit the UW-Milwaukee, I&MT website: http://www.uwm.edu/Dept/LTC/student_help/student.help.htm


Technology Literacy Requirements:

  1. Ability to work with the following Internet applications:
    • WWW
    • E-mail
    • Listservs
    • Chat (IRC)
    • Acrobat PDF Reader
    • RealPlayer
  2. Ability to work with e-mail attachments
  3. Proficiency in using the following Microsoft Office applications:
    • Word
    • Excel
    • PowerPoint
    • Access
  4. Ability to contact your ISP for technical assistance on Internet connection and tools.
