Current Friday Night Show

Current show: Stars in the Spring
Dates and time: 7-7:55 pm, April 4 - May 30, 2008
Location: Manfred Olson Planetarium in the Physics building (see map).

• The show starts with a brief interactive session where you appreciate the motions of the Earth around itself and around the Sun in a 3-D way. While this session is taking place, you will have an opportunity to admire our newly renovated facility with full color spectrum LED cove lights, a new sound system, and freshly cleaned and painted dome (12-13 min).
• On this refurbished dome, the spring stars are going to sparkle! First you will see the city sky to get acquainted with the brightest objects. Then you will leave the city behind and explore the sky from a dark location in the country. You will have a chance not only to admire the beauty of some of the astronomical objects in the spring sky such as galaxies and nebula, but you will also listen to stories connected to a brave superhero named Hercules and enjoy the myth of a loving goddess connected to the occurrence of seasons. (30-35 min)
• You can listen to or participate in a question and answer period (10-12 min).
