Workshop Information

Principal Speaker
The featured speaker will be Peter Teichner of the University of California, San Diego. He will give a series of three one-hour talks on "New obstructions for embedding 2-spheres into 4-manifolds". Click here for an Abstract and for links to the slides for each of the three talks.

Contributed Talks
Participants are invited to contribute talks. The lengths of these talks will be approximately twenty minutes, and will depend on the number of requests we receive. A firm schedule will be in place a week or two before the workshop.

Support
An NSF grant has been awarded to this workshop to help cover participants' costs. Limited funds are available to support travel and living expenses of participants who do not have other NSF funding for their research. Graduate students and recent Ph.D.s in geometric topology are especially encouraged to apply for support.

Deadlines
May 10. Requests for financial support.
May 24. Request to give a contributed talk.

Proceedings
A Proceedings of the conference will be published locally, after the conference ends.
