The Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee anticipates a tenure track Assistant Professorship in applied statistics, effective September 1999.

Responsibilities for this position include:

• teaching of undergraduate and graduate courses;
• supervision of Master of Science projects in Industrial Mathematics;
• directing PhD theses;
• statistical consulting for the campus community;
• developing contacts with industry;
• assisting in developing the actuarial science program;
• assisting in developing new courses, as needed.

The Department seeks candidates with strong potential for research and extramural funding. Candidates with prior consulting experience in industry and academia will be given special preference.
