Printed during "one of the most unusual springtimes in any memory," it was handset by Walter Hamady in authentic Spectrum (with Diethelm caps for the title), and printed on a Vandercook proofing press. The text paper is Sekishu and the cover stock is Hamady's own Shadwell hand-made. Special Collections currently holds fifty-eight titles from the Perishable Press. Walter Hamady's Perishable Press was a principle focus of the 1995 UWM Library exhibit The Contemporary Fine Press. |
