Fully Online Courses

The LTC staff has expertise that can help instructors in the design and delivery of fully online courses. Fully online courses use technology in order to meet in a virtual classroom. Fully online courses do not meet face-to-face, but use Desire2Learn, a courseware product, in order to facilitate a virtual classroom. We assist instructors in developing their courses for online administration by proposing pedagogical and technological considerations in design.

The LTC assists instructors in their development of totally online courses. UWM offers several online courses. For more information on courses offered by UWM, visit:

Much of the design activity will focus on practical pedagogy -- what works and what doesn't work in online instruction and learning, and how to accomplish course goals and objectives in a straightforward, effective manner. Instructors who would like to convert his or her course to a fully online course, should first ask themselves the important questions when going online as well as consider the pedogogical implications of course materials (e.g., online syllabus, PowerPoint lectures, exams) and student activities (e.g., collaborative groups, debates) in the online environment by visiting our:

Faculty Development Resources

Once you have answered the important questions and want to start creating your online materials, please request a Desire2Learn course site and find other important information about UWM's courseware at:
