Faculty Development ProgramsThe LTC places a priority on assisting schools and colleges to develop totally online and hybrid degree and certificate programs. The staff has worked with UWM faculty from a number of departments, schools, and colleges to help them move degrees, programs, and certificates either online or to the hybrid course format. The LTC delivers comprehensive faculty development programs that assist instructors to integrate e-learning into their courses successfully. These programs are tailored to meet the pedagogical objectives and technical needs of each faculty group, and they focus on web-enhanced, hybrid, or totally online course development. One of our faculty development programs was with the UWM College of Nursing who developed an online option for their Doctor of Philosphy degree in nursing. Teach effectively online requires learning new skills, such as facilitating online discussions, stimulating online communication and assessing online work. A formal faculty development program is essential.
