April 1968 (age 69)

On April 8, four days after his 69th birthday, Sigurd sends the second draft of Open Horizons to his editor at Alfred Knopf, Inc., Angus Cameron. On April 16th -18th he attends the National Park Service advisory board meeting in Washington, D.C. He is now a retired advisor rather than an active one, but still welcome at the meetings.
