Sigurd
writes on October 25 that he needs to get back to writing again, that
he is "emerging as a poet of the out of doors" and cannot
let it slide but must put his effort into a book. "Nothing must
ever interfere with what you have to do," he wrote. "Look on
everything as tho it were your last ."

An
article with Sigurd's by-line, "The Citizen's Role in Wilderness
Preservation," was published in the Jordani Journal ,
published by the Cornell University Society of Zoologists. The article
actually was ghost-written by Rosemary Dolgner of The Wilderness
Society (Sigurd was vice president of TWS at the time); it's the only
time I know of where he didn't write an article carrying his name.
