Geo Club Trip Photos
For several years the Geology Club planned a trip to Southern Indiana (near Bloomington) over Spring Break to collect geodes (hollow rocks filled with crystals) and explore the many caves found in the region. Here is a collection of pictures that have been assembled from trips in the past. A major part of the trip obviously was to have a good time which we did on nightly basis. This trip was an opportunity to meet new people, see some beautiful countryside, collect some nice geodes and get dirty in the caves. For many it was the first time they had ever been in a cave! The trip attracted people not only from the Geoscience Department but other departments as well as other Universities (Oshkosh and Whitewater). Some people just had a casual interest in rocks or caves. All in all, a good time was had by everyone on the trip and each year brought new people and new stories. These pictures should give you an idea of the fun and excitement we had on these trips. I went 5 years in a row (although I have no pictures from 1993) and each time was a blast. Hopefully the GeoClub can start organizing more trips like this for the new batch of students interested in Earth science.
