Degree Programs
The Department of Geosciences offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees in the geological sciences. Both the BS and BA degrees are offered at the undergraduate level. A minor is also offered.
Undergraduate Programs
The Department offers both a Geology-Geophysics and a General Option in the major. The Geology-Geophysics Option leads to a BS and is designed to prepare students for careers as professional geologists in a wide range of disciplines, including hydrogeology, engineering geoscience, petroleum or mineral exploration and development, environmental geoscience, and other facets of the geological sciences. The General Option leads to a BA and is designed for students, including primary and secondary school teachers, who have a broad interest in the Earth sciences.

Graduate Program
The Department offers both Master of Science and Doctorate degrees. Interested parties can apply electronically through the Graduate School homepage. In addition, each applicant needs to arrange to have at least 3 letters of recommendation and GRE scores sent to the Graduate Program Assistant, Department of Geosciences, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, PO Box 413, Milwaukee, WI 53201. Reference letters should be accompanied by a copy of the program's cover form (pdf).
