the Case for GIS Coordination" (PowerPoint

Mr. Mockert is currently serving as the
Director of State and Local Practice for GeoAnalytics, Inc. Before
coming to GeoAnalytics, Dave was the Geographic Information Officer
(GIO) for the State of Wisconsin. As the GIO, Dave provided coordination
of statewide GIS activities, including the development of a statewide
GIS Strategic Plan and initiation of a statewide coordination
governance body.
Mr.
Mockert's
presentation will focus on the importance of
Geographic Information (GI) coordination. The talk will address
three
topic areas:
Following initiatives outlined in the Statewide GIS Strategic
Plan
from January, 2007, explain efforts to develop a statewide
GI governance
body (a geographic information coordination council).
The importance of coordination across jurisdictions at all
levels as
the world moves into the "New Web 2.0"
How to truly leverage the collective investments in GIS

environment of readily available, massive amounts of information?
