Holocaust Research and Information Project

Dedicated to Remembrance and Responsibility

Since 1973 the Comparative Literature program has provided faculty and staff dedicated to teaching, researching, and providing consultation about the literature of the Holocaust. Through the efforts of Lecturer Esther Ansfield and her students, in 1982 the Holocaust Research and Information Project became officially housed in Comparative Literature, as a vital resource of works related to the Holocaust. The growing collection includes a diverse, international array of literary and scholarly books, films, documentaries, and articles, housed in Curtin Hall, Room 907.

Each semester the project offers two courses on topics related to the Holocaust, through the Comparative Literature program. In addition to courses taught at UWM, an evening course, held off campus, is offered every semester.

The works in the Project collection are available for the use of the academic community at UWM and educators around the Milwaukee Area.
