Adult/University Level TESOL Graduate Certificate Program

The adult/University Level TESOL Graduate Certificate Program is designed to meet the needs of graduate non-degree students or graduate students concurrently enrolled in a UWM master's or Ph.D. program who wish to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) to adults or university level students abroad. Graduate Certificate Program in International Technical Communication

The Graduate Certificate in International Technical Communication is intended for current and future technical communicators who wish to develop or enhance skills in the following areas: technical writing and editing, information development, project management, training, document design and evaluation; business functions and operations (especially multinational/cross-cultural); web and multimedia documentation; user interface design and technical translation for diverse cultures; and international awareness through cross-cultural study and experience. Graduate Certificate in Professional Writing and Communication

The certificate is offered jointly by the Departments of English and Communication; all courses are offered on line through web-based distance education. The Certificate offers an interdisciplinary curriculum that enables students to develop strong writing and communication skills in the following areas: technical writing, information development, and document design; communication across organizations and technical operations; communications theory and organizational communication; group communication and teamwork; user interface design and web design; instructional design and training program development; project management and client requirements documents; usability testing, evaluation, and measurement; technical skills (such as HTML, XML, and scripting languages).
