Dr. Jamie Poster (Ph.D., University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee) is a lecturer in Film Studies. Her research interests stem from the fields of media studies, mass communication, literature, and critical and cultural theories. She teaches course in new media, television studies, and gender and media. Since 2003 she has served on the Board of Directors of the Society for Cinema and Media Studies, currently in the position of Information Technology Officer. She has published articles in Cinema Journal, The Quarterly Review of Film and Video, Women and Everyday Uses of the Internet (Anthology) and she's working on a collected volume with Professor Matthew Tinkcom entitled Pause/Play.
