Mariann Maris
Course Information:
TR 8:05-9:20 am

COURSE DESCRIPTION: "Baseball is Life." Is this slogan accurate? Perhaps this question will be answered in this seminar. You will have an opportunity to learn more about this uniquely American sport and the place baseball occupies in our imaginations. We will talk about, read, and write about baseball in ways that help you explore the idea that baseball is synonymous with the American experience, with life. We will view movies and videos, read about the topic, discuss and write
about baseball - negatives as well as positives. Day-to-day class
activities will vary. Expect a field trip to Milwaukee's Field of Dreams
- Miller Park, a tailgate party at Milwaukee County Stadium, guest speakers,
a trip to the Golda Meir Library Archives, and other surprises.
