Course Description Truth in the courtroom is what the jury decides is true beyond a "reasonable doubt." But what does the term "reasonable doubt" mean and how do advocates on both sides of a case use this concept to influence the jury's decision? This freshman seminar uses rhetorical theory to analyze the moral questions and persuasive techniques depicted in famous fictional and real trials in literature, film, and media. Texts will include:
