Course Description

Advanced Technical Writing is a course for those interested in functioning as professional writers in organizations. The course will examine the theory and practice of  professional writing in business, education, and government.  Students will analyze the rhetoric of professional documents and will receive intensive practice in producing documents of professional quality. The course will include visits from guest writers and a tour of a technical publishing company.  Among others, the writing assignments will
include the following:

Audience Analysis
Executive Summary
Publishing Company Report
Editing Assignment
Detailed Outline
Literature Review
