Course Description
This course is designed to provide prospective or in-service ESL teachers with theoretical background and experience in evaluating, adapting, and developing materials for teaching English to speakers of other languages. You will have opportunities to judge the appropriateness of existing materials for a variety of language programs and target populations. In addition, working in groups and individually, you will be involved in creating materials for a variety of classroom purposes. By the end of the semester, you will be experienced in evaluating existing materials and filling gaps by adapting or designing materials.
