Course Description
This course provides an opportunity to read a range of novels and short stories - science fiction, autobiography, immigrant narrative, fantasy, bildungsroman - written in different parts of the world, such as Egypt, India, South Africa, Zimbabwe. The writers we will be reading include Leila Ahmed, J.M. Coetzee, Tsitsi Dangarembga, and Salman Rushdie among others.
Course requirements will consist of class presentations, short papers, and a final paper.
Please note: For Spring 2007, this course will meet the Minority Literature requirements for Plan A.
