Course Description
Students will develop the elements of writing fiction, including characterization, plot, conflict and tension, narrative voice, setting, and dialogue. Students will also learn the subtlety of themes and the work of symbols and motifs. Students will critically examine the work of published authors to see how they have developed these elements of fiction. Then, in a workshop format, students will examine and discuss their own work and the work of their peers.
