Course Description
Students will synthesize their classroom and practical experiences in professional writing by completing a major project, reading widely in the professional literature, and participating in a seminar discussion of important readings. Students will be expected to contribute substantially to the seminar meetings by preparing weekly reading and writing assignments. The course will emphasize reading about rhetorical theory in the context of professional writing. In addition to close reading of texts, students will use case studies without clear answers to confront, analyze and attempt to solve problems that arise in the real world.
