Course Description
Students in Introduction to Television Studies will learn how to conduct formal, historical and critical analyses of TV. Daily screenings will include programs from the 1950s to the present (I Love Lucy, Mary Tyler Moore, All in the Family, In Living Color, Taxi, Mad TV, Saturday Night Live, East Meets West, Law and Order, The Golden Girls, The Simpsons, South Park, The Daily Show, Survivor, The OC, Northern Exposure, Six Feet Under, The Sopranos and many others). Assignments: short reading responses, midterm and final papers.
