Course Description
Incorporating technology and traditional methodologies, this section of English 277 explores African American literature and film. Interdisciplinary in scope, this course analyzes literary, historical, and social/political materials, an approach that reflects the interconnectedness of artistic and social phenomena. Selected essays, slave narratives, poetry, short stories, novels, and films will be critically studied. Attention will be given to historical, cultural, and socio-political backgrounds.
