Special Considerations

Solutions of ³⁵S-amino acids may be volatile, and can be a contamination problem.
Vials of ³⁵S should be opened in a fume hood.
Using an activated charcoal filter on the top shelf of incubators will reduce the build up of contamination on the interior surfaces of the incubator.
No shielding is needed, it is normally provided with the solution and the apparatus being used.
